Fundación Empretec Argentina

Our History

Fundación Empretec Argentina was born on March 15 in 1988 by means of an agreement signed between the Banco de la Nación Argentina (Argentine National Bank), the United Nations and Argentina Tecnológica (Argentec, a consortium consisting of Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Banco de la Provincia de Mendoza, Banco de la Provincia de Córdoba y Banco de la Nación Argentina). This agreement was supported by the Argentine Industrial Union (AIU) and the General Confederation of Industry (GCI).

Currently, active members - thanks to whom it is possible to continue developing our activity all over the country – are the Banco de la Nación Argentina (Argentine National Bank), the Argentine Industrial Union and UNCTAD.

From its beginnings in 1998, the Entrepreneurship Training Workshop (ETW) has been held in 23 out of the 24 Argentine provinces and the Communities with Value (CWV) Program, since its creation in 2016, has been implemented in the provinces of Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Mendoza and Santiago del Estero.

Fundación Empretec Argentina is a pioneer and a benchmark for other regional centers since today it collaborates with the implementation of the UNCTAD | Empretec Program in countries like Ecuador, Spain and Paraguay.

Similarly, we are connected with 90 institutions all over the country like development agencies, business incubators, technology centers, chambers of commerce, business centers and universities, including the Consejo Federal de Inversiones (Federal Council of Investments), the Federación Económica de Mendoza (Economic Federation of Mendoza), the Agencia de Desarrollo Económico de Neuquén (Economic Development Agency of Neuquén), the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (National University of the Litoral), as well as the national, provincial and municipal governments.
