The United Nations defined the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved at the General Assembly on the 25th of September in 2015, in which an action plan for the people, the planet and prosperity was established. Such document announces 17 Sustainable Development objectives and 169 goals for the benefit of human rights of all people, gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The objectives and the goals are of an integrated and indivisible nature and combine the 3 dimensions: the economic, social and environmental dimensions, recognizing that poverty eradications the biggest challenge the world faces today which, in turn, is an essential requirement for sustainable development. These objectives and goals are, since 2016, will guide leaders worldwide for the next 15 years.

Considering each country faces specific challenges on the way, from Fundación Empretec Argentina we know we must make the explicit commitment to contribute from our actions. Thus, we have decided that our strategic plan will be aligned to the Objectives of Sustainable Development. We adhered, primarily, to Objective N°8, which is committed "Promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full employment, and decent work for all." In this sense, in Fundación Empretec Argentina, since its establishment, we work to promote the development of people through their personal endeavors so that they become micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

That is why the activities at the Empretec Foundation in Argentina add value in each of the communities where it operates, making it more sustainable through the productive economic development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, thus generating genuine employment and helping to prevent young people from migrating to big cities.

Likewise, the Empretec Foundation's great potential is due to the articulation with other civil society organizations which allow us to multiply results and take our work to more communities. In these interactions, both Fundación Empretec Argentina and strategic partners, prioritize equality as a core value when it comes to generating opportunities that encompass economic, social and environmental aspects, through awareness of the proper management of natural resources. In this sense, we align ourselves with Goals 5 and 17.

During 2017 we developed a Strategic Plan 2018/2019 taking the Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) as reference points in order to be able to count on their respective measurement indicators to assess the quantitative and qualitative performance of our programs in each of the communities where they develop.
